I’m not joking. I saw a new meetup group online today called Phoenix Procrastinators. The group description says “We don’t actually do anything…we are procrastinators. But why feel guilty about this gift. Celebrate this with other like minded procrastinators.” I’ll confess, I was intrigued. What in the world would a meetup be like with such a group?
I generally choose to meet with movers and shakers: the kind of people who want their businesses and their personal lives to thrive. And yet, if I’m honest, at times I probably am better suited to the procrastinators group. Even this blog. I put it off until all my other to-do items were checked off the list.
What are you putting off right now? What task keeps getting pushed to tomorrow because you just don’t want to deal with it today?
We’ve all taken that time management class where we heard Dale Carnegie’s quote, “Do the hard jobs first. The easy jobs will take care of themselves.” And the days where you’ve tried it, it worked.
That sense of accomplishment and success pushed you forward and made the rest of the day more productive.
Yet I’m willing to guess that there is at least one thing on your to-do list that keeps getting pushed back. Not just to tomorrow—but week after week, year after year. It is your will or trust. You know you need it. When you meet with your financial advisor, you hang your head a little, politely nodding and smiling, “Yeah I know.” You may have even quietly resolved to get it done by the end of the year. So here’s your chance to finish 2018 strong. Call today for an appointment and check out our end of year specials. Protect your family and build your legacy plan. Then the next time you meet with your advisor, you can strut right into the office.
