Focus on Money Podcast with Amber Stitt

Unlike Scar in the Lion King (who muttered sarcastically in that perfect Jeremy Irons’ voice “I’m surrounded by Idiots,”) I’m surrounded by intelligent men and women.

Some of the people in my circles love to talk about money.  And I always enjoy engaging with them.

One of these groups, Women in Insurance and Financial Services, recently hosted a morning coffee event when Amber Stitt and I started talking about how her world (Life Insurance) interacts with my world (Estate Planning).  So many topics just sprang out of the conversation that she invited me to appear on her podcast, Focus on Money.

We spoke about how The Secure Act affects our estate plans and how life insurance may be a great strategy for planning an inheritance.

This conversation is not to negate the many incredible options that Financial Advisors have for investing, but merely a talk about how different assets fall into different rules.

Proverbs 15:22 says, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”  I take that passage to heart.

Surround yourself with smart people when it comes to money.  Familiarize yourself with how each asset plays with your strategy.  And if you don’t have the right advisors, let me know.  I’m always happy to make introductions.

Enjoy the podcast!  I definitely enjoyed the conversations with our host!

Thank you again, Amber.  And here’s to many more intelligent money conversations.
